Getting started
untitled.movie is one place for a film before the camera rolls: you develop the story, write the script, board it and hear it, alone or with others, and your AI assistant can work along with you.
Workspaces and projects
When you sign up you get a workspace of your own. A workspace holds projects; a project is one film (or series, novel, trailer…) with everything that belongs to it. Create one with New project on your dashboard.
A project has four tabs, and its tools sit right above them on every project page:
- Writing: screenplays, treatments and every other text, grouped by track (the film, a strand, the novel, the trailer…). See Writing.
- Storyboards: boards with scenes, shots and panels, linked to the script. See Storyboards and Studio.
- Looks & References: the look of the film (stills, generated looks, clips) and the films, books and other works it draws on.
- Development: what is waiting on you, what needs updating after decisions, and recent activity. See The bible and decisions.
Working together
Invite people under Members on the project. Everyone has one role per project:
| Manager | Everything, including members, settings, decisions and restoring versions. Owners and admins of the workspace are managers of all its projects. |
|---|---|
| Editor | Writes and edits documents, storyboards and the bible; draws in Studio. |
| Reviewer | Reads everything and comments. |
| Viewer | Reads everything. |
Several people can write in the same document at once; you see their cursors and every change is saved as you type.
Deleting a project
A manager moves a project to the trash under Edit on the project. It then disappears for everyone, in Studio and for connected AI assistants too, but nothing in it is touched. The Trash on your dashboard lists what is there: Put back brings a project back as it was. After 30 days a trashed project is deleted for good with everything in it; owners and admins of the workspace can also do that right away with Delete forever or Empty trash. That can't be undone.
