Connecting your AI assistant

untitled.movie works with the AI assistant you already use, through the open Model Context Protocol (MCP). Your assistant can read and write in your projects with your permissions; you don't need an extra AI subscription from us, and your conversations stay in your own app.

Connect

The address is https://untitled.movie/mcp.

claude.ai and Claude Desktop: Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, paste the address, then Connect.
Claude Code: run claude mcp add --transport http untitled https://untitled.movie/mcp in your terminal, then /mcp to sign in.
Other MCP clients: Streamable HTTP with OAuth sign-in; clients register themselves.

Connecting opens our sign-in page. There you choose whether the assistant may make changes or only read, which toolsets it gets (develop, write, board, audio) and whether it sees all your projects or only the ones you pick.

How it works with you

Your assistant starts a session with a brief of the project (logline, canon, open questions, what changed since last time) and closes it with a summary. Sessions are listed on the project.
It proposes; you decide. Decisions it records on your instruction wait for your confirmation (see The bible and decisions).
Everything it writes is labelled as AI in the history, and a document's authorship page shows how much of the text came from people and how much through AI.

What your assistant can do

The connection offers 92 tools. Your assistant can never do more than your own role in a project allows. Tools that change something refuse to run unless you allowed changes when connecting, and a toolset is only there if you ticked it.

Reads: looks at something and changes nothing.
Changes: adds or edits something. What it writes is labelled as AI.
Deletes or replaces: removes something or puts an earlier version in its place. Your AI app is told that these tools are destructive, so it can ask you first.
Reaches outside: sends an invitation email, or calls ElevenLabs with your workspace's own key (voices and table reads).

For IT administrators

What you need to know to decide whether to allow this connector in your organisation.

Server	`https://untitled.movie/mcp`, Streamable HTTP over HTTPS only. The address is the same for everyone.
Operator	MEYBORG UG (haftungsbeschränkt), Hamburg, Germany (imprint). Servers, file storage and backups are at Hetzner in Germany.
Sign-in	OAuth 2.0 authorization code flow with PKCE (S256). There are no API keys and no shared passwords. Clients register themselves through Dynamic Client Registration or a Client ID Metadata Document; discovery follows RFC 9728 and RFC 8414.
Who connects	Each person signs in with their own untitled.movie account; there is no service account for a whole organisation. An assistant gets that person's role in each project (viewer, reviewer, editor or manager) and nothing more. Remove someone from a project or workspace and their assistants lose it with them.
What a person grants	Reading only, or changes as well (scopes `read` and `write`); the toolsets (`tools:develop`, `tools:write`, `tools:board`, `tools:audio`); and all their projects or only the ones they pick.
Tokens	Access tokens last two hours and are renewed with a refresh token. We store only hashes of both. Disconnecting an app under Connected apps revokes its access at once.
What goes to the AI app	The project content a tool returns when the assistant asks for it: text, bible items, storyboard images, files. From there your AI provider processes it under your agreement with them.
What we receive	The tool calls and what the assistant passes in them, such as the text to write or the request it notes when it opens a session. The rest of the conversation stays in the AI app. We never use your projects to train AI models.
Other services	Inviting a member sends an email. The audio tools send the text of the chosen scenes to ElevenLabs, and only if an owner or admin stored the workspace's own ElevenLabs key. Tools that add an image or a file from a web address fetch it from there.
Record	Every change is recorded in the project with the person, the fact that it came through the connector and the assistant's session, which names the app. Text written through the connector counts as AI on a document's authorship page.
Deleting	A project the assistant removes goes to the trash and can be put back for 30 days before it is deleted; the connector cannot skip that wait. Deleting project files, recordings, storyboards, references, shot versions or saved storyboard versions is final; the last four need the manager role, and a whole storyboard goes only when the assistant names its title.
Limits	300 requests a minute for each connection.
Network	All calls go to `untitled.movie` on port 443. Download links for exports and audio point to our file storage at Hetzner (`your-objectstorage.com`) and are valid for an hour.
